Childbirth is one of the most emotionally and physically intense experiences any woman can go through — and that’s just giving birth to one child. But, try to imagine what it must be like to give birth to six babies at one time? A mom from Houston, Texas named Thelma Chiaka, did just that, and she did so in what may be record time. Thelma recently gave birth to sextuplets, which are incredibly rare. According to Women’s Hospital of Texas, who also shared a heartwarming photo of Thelma.
While Thelma was already a super mom, she’s gained even more notoriety after folks learned that she gave birth to all six children in under nine minutes! The hospital said via a press release that all six infants arrived perfectly healthy with weights ranging between one pound 12 ounces and two pounds 14 ounces. Despite being rare, these births happen each year, with some moms giving birth to as many as eight babies at one time. One famous example is Nadya Suleman, also known as Octomom.
